Dean was born and raised in Kansas. He met his wife Patty at Kansas State University, where both were involved with the Navigators. Through the Navigators, Dean grew in his relationship with Christ and also gained the vision for personal ministry, helping others to come to know Christ and grow up in Him.
Dean and Patty have been married for 36 years and have 3 grown children. After marriage, Dean studied at Dallas Seminary and earned a Th.M. degree. Upon completion of seminary studies, Dean and Patty joined OC International and served in Germany. The focus on that work was encouraging and equipping pastors and church leaders. The aim was health and growth in leaders who in turn equipped their people for healthy ministry. Returning to the US after 10 years with OC, Dean joined Church Dynamics International, an agency also focused on serving local pastors and churches. In 1997, he became a pastor in Lincoln, Nebraska, and served for 15+ years.
Dean is now part of Catalyst Coaches Group, through which he coaches men in life, business and relationships. Throughout his life and through various ministries, Dean has primarily focused on challenging and equipping men to become all God has designed them to be. He works with the follow-up (relationship) team in Lincoln and also seeks to encourage pastors and ministry leaders.

Ed was born in Alabama in 1952 and grew up in Chicago. As the third and youngest child in a Christian home, Ed turned his back on the faith of his father at an early age and chose a life of separation from the church. After many years of sinful living, Ed returned to the church in 2000 and was baptized in 2006.
Ed has been a senior manager and President with large international companies and has owned his own multi-million dollar business. He started his entrepreneurial adventure as a shoe shine boy on the south side of Chicago at eight years of age. Ed has lived and worked abroad in England, Germany, and India and has been responsible for multiple start-ups of businesses and branch operations in a variety of situations. While the owner of a local business in Lincoln, he was able to grow the company from 13 employees to almost 200.
Ed became a member of a CBMC Forum in 2006 and is still part of the same Forum—even though he has traveled abroad, sold his local business, and started another one. The “band of CBMC brothers” he has in the Forum has made the ups and downs in his life and business much easier.
Ed has a Bachelor’s Degree and is a member of the John Maxwell Team of Coaches, Trainers and Speakers. He is an Associate Trainer with Equip and travels internationally teaching biblical leadership. He operates his own small Coaching/Consulting business as Nix & Company Inc. and volunteers with Alcoholics Anonymous, Juvenile Detention Services, and SCORE. He is gifted in the areas of Faith, Leadership, Administration, Teaching and Exhortation.
Ed is married to Nickie, and they have a son Joshua who is 27 and a daughter Kimberly, age 38. They also have one granddaughter Summer who is 15. As the Director of Forums for Lincoln CBMC, Ed is anxious to see men become successful in business and significant in the kingdom of God. He has a big vision for the role of Forums in transforming the city of Lincoln for Christ.
