Wise builders

Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. — Matthew 7:24

Here Jesus explains how building our life is like building a house. If we want a house that will last, it must have a solid foundation. And the only foundation for living is to listen to Jesus’ teaching and put it into practice.

LIVE HUMBLY

Consider that we live in a time where Instagram influencers or YouTubers (most with no technical skill, academic knowledge, or talent) have reached celebrity status and have accumulated significant wealth through their various platforms. And many of their followers aspire to be like them. And why not?

Why Repent?

Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you. I will make known to you my teachings. – PROVERBS 1:23

Not many of us like to hear the word repent, because it tends to have negative connotations. But here in Proverbs, when the voice of wisdom cries out that everyone should “repent” at her rebuke, it’s for the sake of offering them a great gift.
